WHAT IS PANTOMIME?
Pantomime is NOT “mime”!
PANTOmime (often called a “panto”) is a type of musical comedy stage production designed for family entertainment.
"One of the best Panto's I've seen outside of the UK. Fun, colourful and lots of that good traditional audience participation."
TORRENT PRODUCTIONS IN THE PRESS
Christopher Hoile, for Stage Door
"I had the privilege of attending Cinderella with three generations of the same family. Looking about me it was impossible to say which of the three generations was having the most fun."
Carly Maga, for The Toronto Star
"Torrent Productions is a small-scale complement to highlight the telltale signs of a traditional British pantomime: a closer connection between the actors and the young audience cheering (or booing) them on, more relevant local jokes and business advertisements, and a mix of current pop songs and more traditional sounds of a holiday family show."
Christopher Hoile, for Stage Door
“ 'Robin Hood' Is a Real Panto and a Real Treat for the Whole Family...One reason for Robin Hood’s success is its very unpretentiousness. Unlike the grandeur of the great expanses of Elgin Theatre, at the Legion you feel like you’re in the town hall of a small village where the resident theatre company has put together a show to entertain the locals."
